Larken Associates' Leasing Numbers are Nearly 100,000 Square Feet More Than This Time Last Year

Larken Associates, a leading developer, owner and manager of retail, medical and professional office space for lease, as well as industrial space in NJ and PA, is 92,218 square feet ahead of where they were this time last year with 402,924 square feet of office, retail and medical space already leased through July 2015.

“We are seeing a diverse range of business types renewing or signing leases, especially in the entertainment sector,” said Rob Marek, Executive Vice President for Raider Realty, the commercial leasing division of Larken Associates.

Highlights include AMC Theaters at Tilghman Square in Allentown resigning a 15-year lease on its 29,000 square foot outparcel to the 244,536 square foot mall. The movie theater will stay open while receiving a full renovation that includes a new box office and guest service area, main entrance and lobby, concessions area, McGuffins Bar area, hallways, restrooms, auditoriums with seating platforms, leather reclining seats and sound system.

“Tilghman Square has a great variety of shops and restaurants that both feed visitors to the theater and will benefit from its decision to stay for another decade,” said Victor Kelly, Executive Vice President for Raider Realty, the commercial leasing division of Larken Associates. “We are very deliberate in where we rent to the various businesses that come to us so that they can benefit from their neighbors—in this case we’ve created a destination for people to spend a few hours.”

Larken is seeing recreational use up at the Hillsborough Business Center including Flair Dance Academy signing a seven-year commercial lease on 4,500 square feet, and Professional Wushu Kung Fu Academy signing a 1-year lease for 1,500 square feet. They join existing tenants Core Volleyball which leases 17,524 square feet, and The Circus Place, a 2,270 square foot circus school for children and adults.

Primus Green Energy also renewed its commercial lease for five years on its 34,388 square foot industrial space at Building 2 in Hillsborough Business Center.
