Larken Associates Completes Third Annual Community Service Outing with America’s Grow-a-Row
25 volunteers help harvest nearly a quarter-million servings of fresh produce for those in need
For the third consecutive year, Larken Associates, a leading commercial and residential real estate firm, has partnered with America’s Grow-a-Row, a nonprofit organization that grows, gleans, and provides fresh fruits and vegetables to those facing food insecurity, as part of its Larken Cares initiatives.
Volunteers Harvest 62,000 Pounds of Produce
This year, 25 Larken Associates team members helped harvest about 62,000 pounds of potatoes and tomatoes, resulting in approximately 247,000 servings for individuals and families in need across the United States.
Supporting a Mission That Reaches Millions
Since its founding in 2002, America’s Grow-a-Row has donated over 100 million servings of farm-fresh fruits and vegetables to feeding organizations throughout the country. The organization grows more than 20 nutrient-rich varieties, including cucumbers, zucchini, eggplant, corn, peppers, turnips, potatoes, cabbage, and more.
Volunteering with America’s Grow-a-Row has been a very meaningful experience over the last three years, and it allows us to give back to our community in a very hands-on way. When I first heard about Grow-a-Row, I knew I wanted to get Larken Associates involved so we could make a significant impact together. Knowing that the fruits and vegetables we harvest go directly to the food banks and families in need fills me with a sense of purpose and further connection to the communities we’re part of.
A Core Part of the Larken Cares Commitment
Larken Associates' annual volunteer outing with America’s Grow-a-Row has become one of its signature Larken Cares community service initiatives. Following the Grow-a-Row outing, the firm is preparing for its annual mission trip to Guatemala in support of From Houses to Homes, an organization dedicated to providing sustainable housing, education and healthcare to impoverished Indigenous families.
