Larken Associates Partners with America’s Grow-a-Row for Second Consecutive Year
ShareVolunteers harvested 574,000 servings of fresh produce to support people facing food insecurity
Larken Associates, a regional leader in commercial and residential real estate building, development and management, recently partnered with America’s Grow-a-Row, a nonprofit organization that grows, gleans, and gives nutritious fresh fruits and vegetables to people facing food insecurity, for the second consecutive year. As part of its Larken Cares initiative, 18 Larken Associates team members participated in two volunteer outings, one in September and one in October, helping to harvest 57,000 pounds of corn and 86,600 pounds of potatoes and squash. Together, they provided 574,000 servings of fresh produce to those in need.
Since its founding in 2002, America’s Grow-a-Row has delivered fresh produce free-of-charge to support those struggling with access to food. To date, the organization has donated nearly 100 million servings of fresh produce to those in need.
“We are eternally grateful for the support of generous partners like Larken Associates who help us accomplish our mission to help alleviate hunger among the 44 million people around the county, including 13 million children, facing food insecurity,” said Kristen Senuto, Programming Associate at America’s Grow-a-Row. “On September 6, we tied our record for the most corn harvested during a single event, which is a testament to the hard work of their team, along with our other partners who participated.”
