Larken Associates Mourns the Loss of Veteran Executive Babette Rutman
It is with great sadness that Larken Associates announces the loss of the firm’s former CFO Babette Rutman at the age of 72.
Babette joined Larken Associates in 1996 and quickly became a key member of the firm’s executive team. Working closely with the firm’s Chairman Larry Gardner and President and Chief Executive Officer David Gardner, Babette’s leadership and tireless hard work helped transform the company into one of New Jersey’s most respected and fastest-growing real estate builders, developers and managers. Babette retired from her role as CFO earlier in 2023 but continued to be a trusted resource for the Gardners and the entire Larken Associates team.
For almost three decades, I have been honored to call Babette a friend and colleague. She will be deeply missed by her Larken family as we reflect on her friendship and the many accomplishments and wonderful times we shared together. Our sincere condolences go out to her family during this difficult time.
In addition to serving as CFO of Larken Associates, Babette was also the Broker of Record for Raider Realty, the in-house brokerage division of Larken Associates.
Prior to joining Larken Associates, Babette owned and operated two Century 21 offices in New Jersey and was also employed at Kaplan Companies. She received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Rutgers University School of Business. Babette is survived by her 3 children Jason Boig, Sarah Rutman and Steven Rutman, and grandchildren.
